New Rule - Withdrawal of Resolutions
After a Resolution is read and referred to a committee, it shall be deemed to be in possession of the Council; however, a resolution may be withdrawn by its author (first named Alderperson if more than one author is listed) under limited circumstances: 1) A resolution may be withdrawn at the committee level by its author if no action has been taken to approve, deny or amend the resolution. If held at committee, its author may subsequently withdraw the resolution prior to the committee acting on it. 2) A resolution may be withdrawn at the Council level by its author subject to consent of 2/3 of Council members present.
